LOCAL FESTIVALS Doonbeg Drama Festival -The Festival is affiliated to the Amateur Drama Council of Ireland www.adci.ie and participates in nominating groups to take part in the All-Ireland Drama Finals. The 10 day festival hosts some of the finest productions of amateur drama in the country and takes place in early March each year at Doonbeg Community Hall. Details available on www.doonbeginfo.com

Doonbeg Seafood Festival - The fourth annual Doonbeg Seafood Festival will take place from Friday, 20 July to Sunday 22 July 2012. It will feature cookery demonstrations from both local and international chefs. The festival also features angling demonstrations, currach racing, boat trips, a fish market and an oyster eating competition. Seafood dishes will be on offer in the three restaurants in the village over the weekend and there will be a number of activities for children including face painting, pony & trap rides and crab fishing.
Doonbeg Currach Regatta - The annual Currach Regatta takes place in Doonbeg Bay on the August Bank Holiday Monday. It is a great fun day out with activities at the pier in Doonbeg for all the family, including bouncy castles, music, refreshments etc. www.westclarecurrachs.com
