There are a variety of activities suitable for children of all ages available within close proximity to Sandhills House.

Playgrounds

Doonbeg -This community playground caters for the younger children and is situated at the back of Doonbeg Community Hall.

Kilkee - Situated on Chapel Street, this newly developed playground is suitable for children up to 10 yrs of age.

Cappa - Situated 1.5km from Kilrush town and this playground is located in a beautiful setting over looking the Shannon and Scattery Island. 

Moher Hill Open Farm - (4km from Liscannor)  This award winning open farm has lots to do and see! Children can interact with a wide variety of friendly animals and play in the fully equipped indoor and outdoor play areas which include ball pool, go-karting, bouncy castle and mini-golf! www.moherfarm.com

Indoor Swimming Pools 

Waterworld, Kilkee -  this aquaplay centre boasts a range of fun features including geysers and gushers, bubbles and whirls, the thrill of the big slide or the lazy river ride. www.kilkeewaterworld.com  

Seaworld, Lahinch   Children can enjoy the children's pool & Sammy Sharks soft play area. Seaworld is also home to the Atlantic Aquarium, where children can see and experience native sharks, rays, conger eels, flatfish and lobster.

Farm Visits

Sandhills House is located next door to a large dairy farm and children (accompanied by an adult) are welcome to visit the farm, to see farm work like milking the cows and feeding the calves! 

Libraries

There are three public libraries in the area, located in Miltown Malbay, Kilkee and Kilrush.

There are two Equestrian Centres in the locality -

West Clare Equestrian Centre in Tullabrack and Danganelly Equestrian Centre near Cooraclare where children can get riding lessons or go pony trekking

Pitch and Putt

There are a number of Pitch and Putt courses in the West Clare area.

Kilkee has a well laid out course at the west end of the town.

Spanish Point: Quinn's Pitch and Putt course is situated next to the Armada Hotel.

Lahinch: Ocean View Pitch and Putt Course - open for the summer season only.

Liscannor: Sandfield House Pitch and Putt is Clare's first link course situated on the Lahinch to Cliffs of Moher Road. Open to green fees all year
